Surf, move, slow down, in your own way.

Loulou's Lombok will be a small-scale surf and lifestyle retreat set on the hills of Areguling.

With 10 private bungalows and 2 shared rooms, the space will be built around a yoga shala, recovery area, café, garden, and pool, all connected through open, shared spaces.

It will be a place for people who want to move, explore, reset, and connect, with nature, with the ocean, and with each other.

Come to surf, to practise yoga, to try something new, or simply to slow down for a few days.

Surf

The Areguling reef offers both a long right and a faster left. You can paddle out, or take a local boat that drops you off and picks you up. The south coast of Lombok offers a wide range of waves for all levels, all within a short drive.

Yoga and movement

The yoga shala will be located higher on the hill, offering a quiet space with open views. There will be room for different types of yoga, breathwork, family constellations, and other workshops depending on the retreat or collaboration.

Recovery

Alongside all the movement and activity, the recovery area will give space to slow down. It will include an ice bath, a traditional sauna, and a quiet massage area.

Café and Garden

An ocean-facing terrace café with produce from the garden, fish from the village boats, and slow mornings that turn into long afternoons.

The social heart of the space.

A large shared table, a coffee corner, a bar and relaxed lounge areas, designed for slow mornings and long afternoons.

Outside, a terrace with open views over the ocean.

Some evenings will come together naturally, with shared dinners at the table or around the bonfire.

Retreat organisers can reserve the full property or part of it. When only part of the property is reserved, remaining rooms may still be available for individual guests.

The people · 08

The people building it.

We both found our way to Lombok through travel, and through surfing. Loulou's is the place we kept looking for on the road: somewhere to surf, eat well, move, slow down and meet good people. So we decided to build it. What connects us is simple: a love for surfing, nature and freedom.

I spent years working in the petrochemical industry before trading it for a life on the road. I founded GoJoTravel, where I organised group surf trips across different countries, entirely on my own. Sport, healthy food and movement have always been at the centre of my life, and so has enjoying every moment of it.

I built and ran my own investment company before travel took me in a different direction. Along the way I became more spiritual and found my passion in family constellations, which I love to host. At Loulou's, there will be room for that work, right next to the surf.

The retreat is being designed together with a Lombok-based architecture team.

Built slowly, on purpose.

We're developing the project in four phases, so every part of the retreat gets the time and care it needs.

    Site secured in Areguling. Design in progress with our architects in Lombok.

  2. Phase 02

    Garden and shared spaces

    Garden, café and yoga shala, the shared heart of the retreat.

  3. Phase 03

    Accommodation

    10 private bungalows and 2 shared rooms, with a shared pool and recovery area.

  4. Phase 04

    Opening

    The retreat will open gradually, starting with a limited number of guests, allowing the space to grow naturally into its full experience.
